Fenit Regatta
12th and 13th June 2010
NOTICE OF RACE
- 1 RULES:
1.1 The Regatta will be sailed under the current RRS (2009 – 2012)
1.2 The prescriptions of the ISA shall apply.
1.3 The IRC Rule 2010 shall apply
1.3 The progressive ECHO handicap system shall be used for all races sailed under ECHO
1.5 Where there is a conflict between the Notice of Race and the sailing instructions, the sailing instructions shall prevail.
2 ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY:
2.1 This event is open to all boats that hold a valid IRC or ECHO handicap certificate.
2.2 Classes will be divided on the basis of their IRC TCF.
The anticipated Class Divisions are as follows:

2.3 Entry Forms must be received before Tuesday 8th June 2010. Entry Forms will be available on the TBSC website www.traleebaysailingclub.com and should be sent to – Raphael Crowley, Tonevane, Tralee, Co. Kerry.
2.4 All visiting sailors shall be deemed to be members of TBSC for the duration of the event.
3 CREW LIMITS:
Crew limits for the series will be IRC +1 for class 1 and 2. No crew limit applies for white sail classes other than that there must be at least two crew on board whilst racing
4 FEES:
The entry fee for this Regatta shall be €75 for class 1 and 2 and €50 for white sails. There will be a penalty of €25 for late entries..
5 SCHEDULE:
5.1 Registration: The registration office will be open on Friday evening (11th) from 7pm to 10 pm and again on Saturday morning (12th) from 9am to 10am
5.2 Number of Races:
The Regatta will comprise a total of 5 races, 3 races on Saturday 12th and 2 races on Sunday 13th.
6 RATING CERTIFICATES:
6.1 Valid IRC certificates are required to race in IRC Classes. Valid Echo certificates are required for all Echo classes.
6.2 The cut off date for validation of IRC certificates is Monday 7th of June 2010. Valid certificates issued after this date will only be accepted at the discretion of the race committee.
7 SAILING INSTRUCTIONS:
The Sailing Instructions will be available at registration and on the TBSC website www.traleebaysailingclub.com.
8 VENUE & COURSES:
All races will be held in Tralee Bay. Courses may include laid windward leeward and windward leeward triangles, round the cans and coastal courses.
9 SCORING:
9.1 The Low Point System of Appendix A will apply
9.2 Two races are required to be completed to constitute a series.
9.3 When fewer than 4 races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores. When 4 races or more are completed one discard will be allowed.
10 BERTHING:
Subject to availability, complimentary berths or swinging moorings will be provided to visiting boats from Friday 11th to Sunday 27th of June
11 OTHER RACES:
11.1 Visiting boats are encouraged to participate in TBSC club racing whilst moored in Fenit.
11.2 TBSC Kilrush Race is scheduled for Saturday June 26th.
12 RADIO COMMUNICATIONS:
12.1 Except in an emergency, a boat shall neither make radio transmissions while racing nor receive radio communications not available to all competing boats. This restriction also applies to mobile telephones.
12.2 Race Area VHF communications shall be on Ch 10. The broadcast or failure to broadcast such information shall not be grounds for protest.
13 PRIZES:
13.1 1st and 2nd prizes will be awarded to boats in each race. A boat may not receive an ECHO and IRC prize in the same race.
13.2 Overall Prizes will be awarded to 1st,2nd and 3rd in each class.
13.2 The Denis Buckley Memorial Trophy will be awarded to the yacht which performs best in IRC.
14 DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY:
The Safety of a boat and her entire management including insurance shall be the sole responsibility of the owner/competitor racing the boat. He/She must ensure that the boat and her crew are adequate to face the conditions that may arise in the course of the Regatta. Neither the establishment of the required safety regulations nor the inspection of any boat in any way limits or reduces the absolute responsibility of the owner/competitor for their crew, boat and the management thereof.
15 INSURANCE:
Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance with a minimum cover of € 2,000,000 per Regatta or the equivalent.
