Sailing Diary 2008
Dear Member,
After many months of hard work by Sailing Secretary Dan Counihan, Dinghy Secretary Ian Magowan, and their committees, I am happy to present you with the TBSC 2008 Calendar of Events. As you can see we have a very busy season planned for this year with lots of new events for the cruisers and dinghies as well as our regular events.
This year sees the introduction of a new 4 Sunday Series in April for the cruisers. We are also continuing a Sunday October Series for the cruisers which was a big success last year. There will also be a new White Sails class in the Sunday cruiser races this year.
I am also delighted to inform you about the new Fenit Keelboat Regatta which will be a 2-day event on the 7th and 8th June. This will be followed by the OSM 100 mile race from Fenit to Clifden on 13th June and WIORA which is being held in Clifden from 18th to 21st June. We hope that the Fenit Regatta will be an annual event on the years that we do not host WIORA in Fenit.
We also have a very exciting season for dinghies this year when we will host the Topper Munster Championships in May, the Topper World Championships in July and the Optimist National Championships in August. These hugely prestigious events should improve the profile of the Club and bring in extra revenue to improve our infrastructure. We hope all members will lend a hand during these events to ensure they run smoothly and successfully.

I would like to encourage all members to inform their family, friends, neighbours and colleagues about the facilities we have in TBSC. Please keep an eye on the Tralee Bay Sailing School website www.traleebaysailingschool.com for up coming sailing courses.
The results of dinghy and cruiser racing will be posted on our website www.traleebaysailingclub.com and on the Kerryman notes weekly during the season.
